We are excited to announce the launch of FarWide Beta – the first map-based search engine for the outdoors!
FarWide provides hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts with the information they need to get out there. Currently, users can find hunting regulations in 31 states, over 250,000 bodies of water for fishing, 940 million acres of public land, live data from 8,000 USGS stream gauges, and much more.
FarWide is available on desktop-only during beta testing, with a mobile app for iOs coming soon in Spring 2018. The mobile app will be focused on providing the information you need while out in the field. This includes turn-by-turn navigation to thousands of public access points you won’t find anywhere else.
It’s no secret that those who engage with nature will do the most to protect it. Hunters and anglers alone contributed $3 Billion in 2017 to conservation through license sales and taxes on sporting goods. That’s why FarWide is committed to becoming the 21st Century solution for experiencing the outdoors, making it as easy as possible to get out there and make the most of it.
Early feedback from our users will be critical to providing the best experience possible. We invite you to test the beta at www.farwide.com and let us know what you think. We are constantly working to expand coverage and improve the product, and your feedback will help us focus on what matters most.
You can reach us on social channels, through the on-site feedback forms, or by email at hello@farwide.com. Regular updates will also be sent through the FarWide mailing list.
